Jake

Jake Wynne, a director of both music videos, commercials and short films came in. We presented our ideas for our music videos and received feedback and recommendations for improvement. We told him or general idea and showed him our animaniac (posted on this blog). He generally liked the idea however we were going to have a twist at the end of our narrative showing the female character possibly liking him and we were also going to play the narrative in a non linear way, jumping backwards and forwards in time. Jake recommended that we either have the twist at the end or play with the narrative. Because there was a lot going on in the video already he said to pick one of them.

We have yet to decide which one we will go with however we will most probably film the twist and in post production devise two alternate versions. One with the twist and one told in a non-linear way and have audience feedback decide which version works best.

He also said a way of making videos look professional without a professional camera is to change the lighting to reduce blurring, however when we were filming our artist we had tried it but it didn't seem to work, so we will be sticking to our usual way of filming. Although we did discover new techniques with the camera such as changing the settings and switching to night mode, which in the light looks like a black and white effect which we can use for our music video as it would fit into our black and white theme for the album.

Jake has directed music videos for celebrities such as Geri Halliwell, Stereophonics and SFA. He has made commercials for nike and has a short film called "DiD" about mental illnesses and split personalities. He has a youtube channel and his own website
