The other location is a small park near Brick lane

In Camden Town, outside a restaurant/ Bar.

A small bridge near the Camden Lake.

Rough digipak ideas

This is our first digipak idea:

  • The top drawing on the left hand side is a silhouette of the artist, the reason we decide to use this because we want to create a sense of loneliness to related to the genre of his song to indicated sadness to the audiences.
  • The top middle drawing is where the CD will be place, the CD will have the artist name printed on, which is easy for the audience notice is his CD.

Digipak design

We had originally chosen to have a contrast on the front pages of the digipak to show the conflict in his songs and to show the conflict in his songs and to represent the different sides of him. As he has songs about new love such as "Do You Call This Love?" this would represent one side of the digipak, this would be the positive side with vibrant colors and close up shots of cheerful emotions from out artist, Adam Hunter.

The other half of the digipak would represent the hidden meaning in his love songs about deception and how peoples looks can deceive you, shown in one of his lines in which he says "Don't look for love in faces, they confuse you with a smile, complicate your reasons, for an everlasting life". This would be represented as negativity through dark colors and long sots to show loneliness and isolation.

We liked this idea as it was relevant and related to the lyrics. It was not conventional for an artist to have a deeper meaning in their songs that are not blatantly obvious to the audience or highlighted. In the end we decided to have a consistent black and white theme throughout, instead of having positivity and a contrasting side, both sides would be entirely black and white. From a technical point of view this was the more logical choice as our artist already has photoshoot pictures with our preferred shot types (long shots to represent emotion and close ups or mid shots to show positive emotions). Also these pictures are in black and white, which would save us time and effort and they have already been approved by our artist as representing him appropriately.

Treatment ideas

Content

The main idea of the video is about first experience with love. Throughout the story they will meet each other/ pass by to empathize there an chemistry between them, including accidently bumping into her in the street. The song conforming the expectations of the audience as the title of the song is "Do You Call This Love?" and spectators would expect the answer to be yes, meaning the music video will be about a typical couple in love which conforming the conventions of this genre.

The video will be contradicting, based on narrative, performance with aspects of intertextuality. We will have our artist, Adam Wilson Hunter playing his guitar in the background of random shots to show the spectators who he is, which would help to establish him as an artist as he is new.

At the end of the music video it will have a happy ending of both characters falling in love and realise and understand the meaning about love.

Purpose

This video will conform the conventions and expected narrative of the pop/country music genre. We will connote the stereotypical aspect by having an couple falling in love.

Genre

"Do You Call This Love?"
Pop. soft rock, country, contradicting, narrative, performance

Style and form

Audience

This will be aimed at both men age women aged 20-30 and also teenagers ages 14-19.
Generaly people who could relate to the song or video, people in the awkward teen stage of discovering "love" and also older people who may have had some experiences when they confuse about love when they young or can relate to the general lyrics.

Representation

The artists costume will represent the characters. White is use to empathize the pureness from the teenage mind, showing they both really unsure what is love, to indicate there innocence, Red costume is use to indicated now they understand about love, by using red to show they both fell in love, red cam also mean passion, energy, love, honor, attraction and more. to indicated their love is strong and no one can spelt them apart.
The colour contrast will represent the conflict and contrast in the different sides of the story.

Treatment Ideas

Idea number 2
(Stalker)

Content

The main idea of the video is a stalking boy in love with a girl he met in HMV. He will stalk her throughout the story in different ways, including purposely bumping into her in the street and going to her house. The song challenges the expectations of the audience as the title of the song is "Do You Call This Love?" and spectators would expect the answer to be yes, meaning the music video will be about a typical couple in love, whereas we will make the answer - no and play with the expectations and conventions of this genre.

The video will be contradicting, based on narrative, performance with aspects of intertextuality. We will have our artist, Adam Wilson Hunter playing his guitar in the background of random shots to show the spectators who he is, which would help to establish him as an artist as he is new.

We will have a twist at the end of the narrative, in which we see the stalking boy being dragged away and we see that the girl still has something that he gave her in the beginning.

Purpose

This video will challenge the conventions and expected narrative of the pop/country music genre. We will challenge the typical objectification aspect by having the male stalk the female. This is empowering to females as she has the power in the narrative.

Genre

"Do You Call This Love?"
Pop. soft rock, country, contradicting, narrative, performance

Style and form

Our text will bear resemblance to (500) Days of Summer (2009, Marc Webb) in the sense that we will have narrative elipses, jumping backward and forward in time, giving us a non-linear narrative. The video will be amplified, as we will be slightly exagerrating the issue of love.

Audience

This will be aimed at both men age women aged 20-30 and also teenagers ages 14-19.
Generaly people who could relate to the song or video, people in the awkward teen stage of discovering "love" and also older people who may have had some experiences with stalkers, stalking or can relate to the general lyrics.

Representation

The artists costume will represent the characters. When we are focussing on the male "stalker" character our artist will be seen wearing white, to represent the boys innocence. When the girl is highlighted he will be wearing black. Black can be see the colour of authority or seriousness, which will be the colour to represent the female as she has the power in this situation.
The colour contrast will represent the conflict and contrast in the different sides of the story.

Treatment Ideas

Idea number 3
(crazy)
Content
This video would be mainly performane based and conceptual. We would see our artist Adam Wilson Hunter busking in London high streets, having cut away shots of the band setting up the equiptments. The crowd of people listening to him will grow and in the course of time people in the crowd will join him and become part of the band. We will have random cut away shots to things of relevance to the song ("Do You Call This Love?") such as a big bunch of red roses, valentines hearts etc. He will be performing outside landmarks such as Big ben and the London eye.
Purpose
The purpose of this video would be to promote the artist as he is a new breakthrough artist and it would get his face out to his audience. It would also be promotion for the band and the newly establshed group as a whole but predominantly Adam Hunter.
Genre
"Do You Call This Love?"
Pop, Soft rock, Country. It wold be a conceptual video as it would'nt necessarily relate to the lyrcs. It would be predominantly performance based.
Style and form
The text will be unique and not based or influenced by any other media text. It will conform to the conventions of the genre because the "country" genre are typically associated with guitars and more realistic videos instead of glitsy videos with a lot of CGI and graphics.
Audience
This will be aimed at both men age women aged 20-40 and also teenagers ages 14-19.
People interested in London as it would be predominantly filmed in the central areas of London. Also it is aimed atpeople who are intrested in the soft rock/country genre and people who have recently found "love" or people who are confused about love.
Representation
Our artist would be dressed casually, in his veryday clothes to establish him as an ordinary individual.
